19 – Celebrate Earth Day! 10:00 to 1:00  -  Come join us as we celebrate Earth Day and the vital role our oceans, rivers, lakes and streams play in a healthy planet.  More than 70% of Earth’s surface is covered by water, so we encourage you to Think Blue To Go Green! Learn how you can do your part while having fun and making a planet-friendly craft.

19 – Behind-the-Scenes Tours – 10:30, 1:30 - Construction on the Sea Turtle Experience is underway, and the two sea turtles who will call the exhibit home are getting excited to meet everyone!  You can get an early introduction to these magnificent creatures by participating on a Behind-the-Scenes Tour.  You’ll not only tour our holding facility and see the turtles, you’ll also get to journey above the Siegfried Families Shark Adventure to see the half-million gallon tank from a marine biologist’s perspective.

  • Adults – $10, Youth – $8 plus general admission or membership. For safety reasons, tour not recommended for children under 5 years old.
  • Behind-the-scenes tours will be sold at the main admission gate on a first come basis, and limited to 15 people per tour.  No advance reservations can be accepted.
  • The tour includes a fair amount of walking and climbing stairs, so we are unable to accommodate wheelchairs or strollers in the working areas.
  • Participants will be required to sign a liability waiver.
  • Sturdy, closed toe shoes are recommended for both your safety and comfort.

22 – Volunteer Open House! Love our seas? Come learn and share your passion for the aquatic world by becoming a member of our dedicated volunteer staff. Admission to the aquarium is free from 6-8 PM when you fill out a volunteer application and plan on attending our volunteer orientation on April 26th and 27th.

26 and 27 – Volunteer Registration and OrientationSaturday the 26th, 10:00 to 2:00 and Sunday the 27th, 12:00 to 4:00 - Come be a part of our team!  Oklahoma Aquarium Volunteers fill vital roles ranging from greeting visitors to educating kids to assisting with animal dietary needs. Fill out an application in advance, or just check in at the Aquarium Business Office to explore our volunteering opportunities.

3-4 – Weekend Wavemakers! Saturday 11:00 to 1:00 and Sunday 1:00 to 3:00 - Splash into your weekend with ocean-sized fun! Join our education staff for crafts, activities and maybe even a little bit of learning…shhhh!

7 – Aqua-Tots – 10:30 – Bring your little ones out for a special seaside adventure at the Aquarium! Join our educators for an interactive experience while getting creative!

  • Visit the Aquarium Cafe for a Big Fish, Little Fish Combo…$5 for two drinks and two muffins or sandwiches!
  • Aqua-Tots is for ages 1-5
  • There is a maximum of 35 children…first come…first served

11 – Mother’s Day - Take Mom out for an oceanic adventure. On Mom’s special day, she gets into the Aquarium free! It’s our way of saying “tanks” for being there through smooth waters and rough seas. (Limit one free admission per each paid admission)

Scout Day Theme: A scavenger hunt with a twist! Comb the aquarium to find hidden bio-facts and then figure out why they are hiding where they are; let’s see how creative you can be!

6 – Sleep with the Sharks - Come join us at the Aquarium for our overnight event. Enjoy a dive show, scavenger hunt, flashlight tour, a movie, and then spend the night with us! Click here to learn more.

8 – World Oceans Day – Activities from 11:00 to 1:00 – More than 70% of the planet is covered by water, so come celebrate this valuable resource with fun, yet educational activities for kids. We will be joined by several other organizations who strive to help keep Oklahoma’s water and land grand!

15 – Father’s Day - Show Dad he’s your favorite fish in the sea, on Father’s Day, all Dads get into the Aquarium free. It’s our way of saying “tanks” for being an anchor and guide. (One free admission with each paid admission)

6 – Homeschool Day -11:00 and 1:15 - The Oklahoma Aquarium features quarterly Homeschool Days. These are days when all of the classroom programs are reserved for our homeschool guests with accompanying activities in the Aquarium. Click here for more information about our Homeschool Days. 

  • The 11:00 program for our younger students will provide a glimpse into our deep oceans. Students will discover some of the “Creeps from the Deep”!
  • The 1:15 program for our older students will bring them almost face to face with a hungry bull shark! Students will get a behind the scenes shark feed tour to see how an apex predator eats.

27 – 31 – HallowMarine! -  6:30-9:00 - For these 5 evenings, the Aquarium is transformed into a spooky (but not too scary!), salty Halloween adventure. Bring your kids in their costumes to trick-or-treat among the tanks, play games, jump around on a huge pirate ship and wave hello to the diving mermaid and pirate in the Coral Reef.  Plus, all the exhibits are open!  $7 for children, $10 for adults.

November 2014

11 – Veterans Day - All veterans and active military service personnel presenting valid military i.d. receive complimentary admission. Thank you for your service to our country!

Dates TBD – Scuba Santa Claus – 3:30 - Even Santa likes to go for a swim in the tropics, and the Coral Reef is as close as you get in Oklahoma to diving in the Caribbean. Watch Santa find out who’s naughty or nice among the fish in the 65,000 gallon saltwater tank, then get your camera ready to have your child pose for the most unique Santa picture ever, without getting wet!
