April 2017

22 – Earth Day – All Day – From Land to Sea - help the hatchling make it to the water! Join us at our new Sea Turtle Island for fun activities and information all about baby sea turtles and their journey from the nest to the waves. 

23 - 29 - National Volunteer Week - National Volunteer Week, sponsored by Points of Light, is an opportunity to recognize and thank volunteers who lend their time, talent, voice and support to causes they care about in their community.  We celebrate by honoring our volunteers and highlighting opportunities for you to join our volunteer family. May 2017 

14 - Mother's Day - Take Mom out for an oceanic adventure.  On Mom’s special day, she gets into the Aquarium free!  It’s our way of saying “tanks” for being there through smooth waters and rough seas. (Limit one free mom admission per each paid admission)

29 – Scout Day  - Activities from 11:00 to 1:00 - The Oklahoma Aquarium hosts Scout Days to honor all youth organizations and their members (such as Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Camp Fire, 4-H, FFA, etc.). There are special activities offered from 11:00 to 1:00 pm, but the discounted rate is available for the entire day (remember the last ticket is sold 1 hour prior to closing.)

  • $7 per student (age 3 and over) and or; $10 per adult (cost includes full Aquarium admission)
  • To receive discounted prices, youth organization members must be in uniform or carrying organization membership cards.
  • Adults must accompany a youth organization member, maximum of one adult per child admitted at discounted price.

June 2017 

10 - Celebrate World Oceans Day (while supplies last) - Recognized annually on June 8, we are celebrating World Oceans Day on Saturday to expand our reach with our program.  Our Oceans/Our Future: Reducing plastics in the ocean, what can you do? Come out and learn some fun ways to reuse and recycle some common plastic objects so they don’t end up in our waterways.

14 – Aqua-Tots! – 11:00  - Fish, fun, friends and stories! Join us for our own seaside storytime. Ages 2-5, maximum of 35, available on a first come basis. Free with admission to the Aquarium. 

16 - ZZZs in the Seas - 7:00 pm to 8:00 am - There are so many cool places to sleepover in the Oklahoma Aquarium, so we're expanding our popular Sleep with the Sharks event to include all kinds of ZZZs in the Seas!  You can drift off to sleep with gentle giants nearby in our new Sea Turtle Island, or dream of adventure next to the Extreme Amazon. Of course, you can still reserve your space and sleep with our sharks! Join us for the very first ZZZs in the Seas and see the Aquarium in a whole new way. The fun-filled night begins with check-in at 7:00 p.m. and includes a light snack, drinks, self-guided scavenger hunt and flashlight tour, a movie and then sweet sea-themed dreams! Wake up and join us for breakfast before the adventure ends at 8:00 a.m. Online registration coming soon.

18 - Father’s Day - Show Dad he’s your favorite fish in the sea, on Father’s Day, all Dads get into the Aquarium free.  It’s our way of saying “tanks” for being an anchor and guide. (Limit one free dad admission per each paid admission)

Wednesdays June 21 through July 26 - Marine Biologist for a Day – 8:45 to 3:00 – Become a junior marine biologist for a day and get hands-on experience caring for aquatic animals and learning what happens behind-the-scenes of an aquarium. *The program is offered for ages 12-16 (separated into age appropriate groups).  Online registration coming soon.

July 2017 

4 – Fish and Fireworks – 6:30 pm - The skies over Jenks will light up with one of the longest, most brilliant fireworks shows in the area and the Oklahoma Aquarium backyard offers a front row view. The Oklahoma Aquarium will be open regular hours during the day – 10:00 to 6:00 with the last entry at 5:00.  The Aquarium will reopen at 6:30 and offer half-price admission. Bring lawn chairs and blankets, but no outside food or coolers please.  Food and beverages will be available for purchase in the Coral Reef Cafe' and outside on the deck by McGraw Beach. Enjoy the exhibits, then head outside to see the fireworks!

7 – Homeschool Day - All Day - The Oklahoma Aquarium features quarterly Homeschool Days. These are days when homeschool students and teachers can enter at a discounted rate. There will also be information and activities in the Great Hall from 10:00 - 12:00.

23 - 29 - Shark Week - Tentative - In conjunction with the Discovery Channel's annual Shark Week, we will host special programs including behind-the-scenes shark feed tours, focusing on our sharks.

27 – 31 – HallowMarine - 6:30 to 9:00 – Once a year, for 5 nights only, the Oklahoma Aquarium opens its doors to trick-or-treaters of all ages to enjoy a safe, fun, indoor Halloween tradition.

  • Mermaid and pirate interaction, pirate bounce house, PeeWee pirate zone, trick or treat candy trail, creepy crawly, costume contest.
  • $7.00 for children $10.00 for adults (special member pricing)

November 2017

13 – Shark Tooth Classic – TIME TBD - In partnership with the Flying Tee, the Oklahoma Aquarium Foundation presents an unprecedented golf experience benefiting the Oklahoma Aquarium Fish Friends Education Program. More info coming soon.
