11, 18, 25 – Behind-the-Scenes Tours – 10:30, 11:30 and 1:30 – Construction on the Sea Turtle Experience is underway, and the two sea turtles who will call the exhibit home are getting excited to meet everyone! You can get an early introduction to these magnificent creatures by attending these limited Behind-the-Scenes Tours. You’ll not only tour our holding facility and see the turtles and giant arapaimas destined for the Extreme Amazon Exhibit, you’ll also get to journey above the Siegfried Families Shark Adventure to see the half-million gallon tank from a marine biologist’s perspective.
Adults - $8, Youth - $6 plus general admission or membership. For safety reasons, tour not recommended for children under 5 years old.
Behind-the-scenes tours will be sold at the main admission gate on a first come basis, and limited to 15 people per tour. No advance reservations can be accepted.
The tour includes a fair amount of walking and climbing stairs, so we are unable to accommodate wheelchairs or strollers in the working areas.
Participants will be required to sign a liability waiver.
Sturdy, closed toe shoes are recommended for both your safety and comfort.
20 - Travel to the Arctic Zone - Come out of the cold from
10 a.m. - 2 p.m. and take a trip through the arctic zone. Join our educators for hands-on activiites and programs that show how creatures survive under such harsh conditions.

16 - Scout Day - Aquasaurs! Learn about the giants that were here before us!
The Oklahoma Aquarium hosts quarterly Scout Days to honor all youth organizations and their members such as Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Camp Fire, 4-H, FFA, etc. Members in uniform or carrying a membership card and one accompanying adult can be admitted to the Aquarium at our discounted Education Department group rates of $7 per youth and $10 per adult. They can also earn the Oklahoma Aquarium’s own Junior Biologist Badge.
19 - 23 - Splash Break - The Oklahoma Aquarium celebrates Spring Break annually with special presentations, hands-on activities, games and other fun. The theme for 2012 is Extreme Amazon, in anticipation of the Extreme Amazon exhibit opening soon. (Watch for construction progress on our facebook page!) All activities are included with paid general admission. Schedule is subject to change as needed. Updates will be posted on our facebook page and at the Information Desk inside the Aquarium.
Monday, March 19– 10:00 to 12:00 - Wet and Wild Amazon
Come explore the rainforest, make a rain stick with us and learn all about how water makes its way through the jungle, from the skies to the river to the ocean.
Tuesday, March 20 – 1:00 to 3:00 - Creepy Crawlies of the Amazon
Think mosquitoes are big in Oklahoma? You won’t believe the amazing insects found in the rainforest. See some of the critters up close, but safely of course!
Wednesday, March 21 – 10:00 to 12:00 - Amazon After Dark
Take a learning tour of the jungle after night falls and discover what nocturnal animals call the rainforest their home.
Thursday, March 22 – 1:00 to 3:00 - Amazon EcoZone
Explore the unique habitat of the Amazon, and learn how its health matters even here in Oklahoma. The rainforest helps provide clean air to breathe, countless medicines, foods and other goods. Plus, make your own mini rainforest.
Friday, March 23 – 10:00 – 12:00 - Splash of Color
Discover the colors of the Amazon, from the poison dart frogs to the parrots and birds of paradise. Learn what those vibrant colors mean, from warnings to love is in the air

7 - Aquarium Run - Join the Oklahoma Aquarium for this annual celebration of family fitness with a 1 mile fun run, 5K, 10K and half-marathon. The race events are followed by a party with food, fun and activities for kids, plus all registered runners and walkers receive free race day Aquarium admission.

13 - Mother’s Day -- Take Mom out for an oceanic adventure. On Mom’s special day, she gets into the Aquarium free! It’s our way of saying “tanks” for being there through smooth waters and rough seas. (Limit one free admission per each paid admission)

25 – Symphony by the Sea – 6:30 pm.Join the Oklahoma Aquarium and Tulsa Symphony Orchestra as the two organizations partner to present a unique evening of dining tank side, followed by a concert in the Aquarium Great Hall. Proceeds benefit the educational programs of both non-profits, including Symphony by the Sea for Students.

27 - 31 -- HallowMarine! 6:30-9:00 -- For these 5 evenings, the Aquarium is transformed into a spooky (but not too scary!), salty Halloween adventure. Bring your kids in their costumes to trick-or-treat among the tanks, play games, jump around on a huge pirate ship and wave hello to the diving mermaid and pirate in the Coral Reef. Plus, all the exhibits are open! $7 for children, $10 for adults.

23 – 25 -- Scuba Santa– 3:30 p.m. Even Santa likes to go for a swim in the tropics, and the Coral Reef is as close as you get in Oklahoma to diving in the Caribbean. Watch Scuba Santa find out who’s naughty or nice among the fish in the 65,000 gallon saltwater tank, then get your camera ready to have your child pose for the most unique Santa picture ever, without getting wet!
