About the Event
Symphony by the Sea is a unique partnership between the Tulsa Symphony
Orchestra and Oklahoma Aquarium combining beautiful sights and sounds.
The goal of the evening is to raise funds to further the educational
programs of both organizations, especially Symphony by the Sea for
Students.
An Aquarium Volunteer Educator discusses shark behavior while Tulsa Symphony musicians prepare to play.
The Symphony and Aquarium first joined forces last year to
present a remarkable blend of arts and science education for more than
1,100 students. The children rotated between three stations, each
featuring a lesson on a particular environment or animal presented by an
Aquarium biologist, followed by a musical selection performed by
Symphony quartets and quintets. The first year effort was so
successful, the program continued this year and will expand again in
2012 with your support. We look forward to seeing you August 27th.
Tulsa Symphony Orchestra woodwind players perform for students in front of the Oklahoma Aquarium Coral Reef.
