The 6th Annual Aquarium Run was a record breaker for us, with more than 1,500 registrants in the 1/2 Marathon, 5K and Fun Run/Walk. Words alone do not adequately express our thanks for your participation. The Aquarium Run is much more than a health oriented, family friendly event, it is also a fundraiser to support our exhibits and programs. So your run Saturday morning, was also a boost for environmental education.
Beyond sheer numbers, it was also the smoothest thanks to our top flight race coordinators. It is always risky to name people or organizations individually for fear of leaving someone out, but I'm willing to take that risk to publicly recognize Tim and Lori Dreiling from Fleet Feet, David Brennan from the OU Division of Sports Medicine, Karen Dills and all Aquarium staff and volunteers who put in countless extra hours. I cannot leave out Jenks Police and our Jenks and south Tulsa neighbors, thank you for your assistance.
